Review: Benefit: Watt's Up!

I think Benefit is overall a really good cosmetics company. The quality of their products is always wonderful and I've liked most of the things I've tried from them, and the amazing packaging and clever names are always a plus! I am part of Sephora's Beauty Insider program. Every dollars you spend online or in store is a point on you Beauty Insider card, and you can redeem these points for little beauty goodies. If you shop at Sephora a lot I recommend you join if you haven't already (it is completely free). As part of the Beauty Insider program, you get a little gift on your birthday. I received this Benefit Watt's Up! Highlighter as part of my gift. I got a sample sized one but I like the size because its small so you can travel with it or throw it in your make up bag.

The product itself comes in a little tube and it has a soft creamy consistency. There is only one shade called "Luminous Champagne" and it has a slightly champagne/gold finish. Even though they only have one shade I think the shade will complement most skin tones. You can apply it very lightly or you can also build it up. I thought the product lasted a long time and didn't look bad as the day went one. I like to use it on the tops of my cheeks, the brow bone, above the brow bone, the inner corner of the eyes, and the top the cupid's bow. I sometimes like to put on my eyelids to add just a nice little shimmery touch. It blends easily and adds a nice highlighting effect without looking too glittery or shimmery. It is very natural. It retails for about $30 and although that isn't cheap, there is a lot of product and the quality is great. I don't know if will repurchase it since I don't use it that often (I'm usually in a hurry in the mornings so I do a very simple and basic makeup look) however I like it enough to consider repurchasing it.

Review: Peter Thomas Roth: De-Spot Skin Brightening Corrector

Review: Peter Thomas Roth: De-Spot Skin Brightening Corrector

I went into Sephora looking for a serum/treatment/moisturizer that would help fade my scars. They're mostly dark small patches from acne and they sit on my forehead and chin. I have had them for years and I have tried many products which claim they would work, but none of them did. So I decided I would spend a few more bucks on something that was better quality. I started talking to the skincare expert at Sephora (I love how they know so much and are so friendly) and told her how I was looking for something that would help fade my scars and spots. She recommended Peter Thomas Roth's De-Spot Skin Brightening Corrector. I had never really heard much of the brand but she recommended it and said I could return it if I didn't like it, so I bought it. GREATEST DECISION OF MY LIFE! I have been using it for a couple of months now and I can say my scars and spots have faded. Before I would only leave the house with a BB cream and colored powder, now I can leave with translucent powder only, that is how much they have faded. I don't have before and after pictures but you'll have to take my word for it.

A little goes a long way, you only need a pump or less (I use about half a pump to cover my entire face except for my cheeks). It absorbs in seconds and it doesn't leave a greasy feeling, it just leaves your skin feeling nice and smooth. The product retails for about $75 for 1oz, which isn't cheap (the bottle is quite deceiving). However, I think if you are going to stick to it and be consistent (I use it every single night as part of my routine and I have done this for a few months now) this is a great product to try out if you have acne scars and spots you haven't gotten rid of. I recommend you buy it at Sephora because they have a great return policy, when I bought it they said I could return it whenever I wanted as long as it was at least half full (use half of it and if you don't like it return it). The bottle has lasted me quite a while but there is no doubt I will be repurchasing it when I run out.

Review: CLINIQUE: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

I have always noticed a bit of a cult around this product. It is a very famous and popular product among the CLINIQUE range. I have very dry skin so I excited to try out this moisturizer. It is very lightweight and thin yet it provides awesome hydration. I used it as the final product in my skincare routine to lock everything in place. It absorbs super quickly which is great because I don't like products that stay on the surface of my skin and just kinda sit there. and when I wake up in the morning I notice that my skin feels super soft and silky. It is not greasy or messy and I do feel that my skin is more hydrated. When I don't use it, I can tell my skin doesn't feel as nice or hydrated. Overall I think this is a great moisturizer. It retails for about $26 for 4.2oz which is a really good size. It's not the cheapest but it's also not the most expensive, and a little goes a long way. To cover my entire face I only need a pump, maybe even less. If you have dry skin or combination dry skin you should really give it a try, and if you have oily or combination oily I try the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. If you have sensitive skin, don't worry! One of things I love about CLINIQUE is how gentle (yet effective) their products are. I have sensitive skin and I have never had any breakouts with any CLINIQUE products. I will most definitely repurchase it when I run out (which won't be anytime soon, it lasts a long time). If you want a good moisturizer, CLINIQUE has got you covered.
