Review: KORRES: Lip Butter

These were highly popular lip butters so I was excited to try them out. They are the KORRES Lip Butters. They come in seven different shades and they have a good selection of light and dark colors. KORRES says they are a "rich, buttery lip balm that melts on the lips and offers a shiny, tinted finish."

They come in little tubs with screw off lids. In order to get the product you have to rub/scoop it our with you finger. This isn't my favorite type of packaging since I feel it can be a little unhygienic. However, the product is indeed very rich and creamy and buttery. it glides right onto the lips and leaves them feeling really moisturized. They don't leave a sticky feeling behind which I absolutely love! They have a sheer-yet-not-so-sheer color to them. They add the perfect amount of color without it being too much. They last a few good hours before you need to reapply it. The hydration lasts a long time and when it wears off, you still have some of the color left behind which is nice because you can apply more in or just use a clear chapstick to bring back the color to life.
POMEGRANATE
I really like the pomegranate one. It is a sheer coral, more on the red/pink side than the orange/pink side (at least on my lips) and it looks really natural and pretty. It retails for about $12 which isn't too bad since they pot is a good size and you really only need a little bit.

Review: Rimmel: Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner

Review: Rimmel: Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner

I love these Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliners. They are just wonderful. Rimmel says: "Long lasting shocking clol intentity with kohl Britania High intensity color for an instant color impact." They have awesome color pigmentation, they are bright and the color really shows through (they come in ten shades). Rimmel says:" Ultra smooth and creamy formula that glides in easily". I completely agree, they are super creamy so you don't have to tug on you eyes, they just slide on.

I personally love to use the nude shade on my waterline. Using a white or nude eyeliner on your waterline helps open up the eyes and make them look bigger and more wide awake. I love this particular eyeliner on my eyes because it is waterproof so it lasts a very long time. Rimmel says they are "waterproof, smudge-proof, sweat-roof, heat-proof, humidity-proof, and sandal-proof", and although I do think they last a really time (especially on the waterline, most eyeliners last a very short time there) I don't think they stay on with such power. I do notice that towards the end of the day, it tends to face on my waterline and the color isn't as powerful and vibrant. But you can still see it on there and it still does the job.

Rimmel says they are "dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested" and that they are "safe for sensitive eyes." I wear both contacts and glasses depending on the day. When i wear it on my waterline with my glasses, I notice no problem. It doesn't irritate my eye and it doesn't cause a horrible painful reaction. It also doesn't irritate my eyes when I wear my contact lenses, however, I have noticed that sometimes the eyeliner will transfer from my waterline to the contacts and will kinda smudge them. You can't really tell but it does create little blurry clouds on my contacts (when this happens I have to throw them away, I've tried cleaning them but it won't come off). Overall though, the consistency is great and so is the lasting power. This product ranges from $3.97-$4.49.

Review: Rimmel: Match Perfection Concealer

Review: Rimmel: Match Perfection Concealer

There are some amazing products you can find in the drugstore. One of my favorite drugstore brands is Rimmel. They have great lipsticks, lipglosses, powders, eyeliners, and foundations. And my new favorite concealer is from them. It is the Rimmel Match Perfection 1-In-1 Concealer and Highlighter. Rimmel says: "Rimmel Match Perfection 1-In-1 Concealer and Highlighter covers imperfections and adapts to skintone with traceless blendability. The soft precision flow-thru brush delivers gentle, precise application for the delicate under eye are. Discoloration, blemishes and under eye darkness are hidden in an instant and skin appears visibly illuminated." I love it! It works wonders for my dark under-eye circles.

I comes in a plastic tube with a brush tip on the end. In order to get out the product out you squeeze the tube and it come out through the little brush. I love that I don't have to dip my finger into it so the product stays relatively clean. It has a creamy/liquid consistency, not too liquid but not a solid cream, it is the perfect consistency. I like to apply it directly from the brush to my under-eye circles and spread it to the tops pf my cheeks (like an upside down triangle). I like to blend out it out with my fingers, I like the results better than when  I use a brush. Because the concealer also highlights, it make me look more awake because it brightens the under-eye area. I wouldn't recommend it for spots or pimples since you wouldn't want to highlight those. But it works great for the under-eyes, to highlight/brighten the brow bone and eyelid and cupid's bow, and around the rose area. It wears great throughout the day and it doesn't dry out and it is also not gonna drip off if you sweat or get wet.

it comes in 5 shades (all for lighter skintones) and retails from $4.97-$6.29 depending on where you buy it. if you buy it at Walgreens or CVS (or simalr stores) they might have discounts or buy-one-get-one 50% off.

You can buy this product at Walmart or Walgreens or any drugstore near you.

I am a big bareMinerals fan! I love their lipglosses, their powder foundations, powder concealers, mineral veils,...I love them! On an everyday basis I prefer to wear a liquid/cream concealer as opposed to powder, so I was excited to see that bareMinerals had a cream concealer. bareMinerals said this of the product: "this creamy formula combines SPF protection with superior lightweight coverage that blends seamlessly to conceal blemishes, dark under-eye circle and other skin imperfection all day long."

bareMinerals - bareminerals® Correcting Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 20
When I tried it I applied it with my fingers. I know they have a brush for their powder concealer but I don't know if you can use it for this concealer, maybe that would have worked out better. I tried warming it up in with my fingers but the product is very thick and it was hard to blend out. i felt like I was pulling too much under my eyes (which is a con since that skin is very delicate). I have very dark under-eye circles and the concealer did not cover them. I might have worked a little bit better if had a brightening component but it doesn't. This concealer is better for spots and blemishes since it provides color without brightening effects.

The product retails for about $20 dollars. It come in 8 shades. However, they are mostly aimed at lighter skin tones so if you have darker skin they may not have your color. I might give it another shot in the future and try applying it with a brush or a different technique, but for now I'll stick to their Broad Spectrum Multi-Tasking Face powder concealer.

You can but this product online at Sephora or BareEscentuals or in any department store.

Review: Benefit: They're Real! Mascara

Review: Benefit: They're Real! Mascara

Will I repurchase it?   Yes   No   Maybe

If you follow the make-up/beauty world then I'm sure you have seen this before. I constantly hear people rave about how amazing Benefit's They're Real! Mascara is, so I was excited to get a sample size and try it out. Even though it was a sample size, the brush was exactly the same and so was the formula. The brush is a hard plastic bristle brush and there is quite a bit a of space in between each bristle compared to other wands. It also has a few bristle sticking up on the end (it is like they're sticking out of a dome). The first thing I noticed was that the product itself was very thick and it clumped up between the bristles. There was a lot of product build up on the end but I tried it out anyways.

The product is very thick and wet and clumps up very easily. For my lashes, it lengthen them a bit and made them look quite spidery. It was a letdown for volume and definition. It takes a while to dry so you can't move your eye or you will have black gunk all over your eyelids. It performed even worse on my bottom lashes. Since it is not waterproof, I had huge raccoon eyes at the end of the day. It didn't really flake of but it did smudge a lot. I was very disappointed because 1) I love Benefit and they usually have amazing products and 2) So many people love it so much I have very high hopes/expectations for it.

Benefit Cosmetics - They're Real! Mascara

Of course it might have a different outcome for someone else, products work differently on different bodies. It retails for $23 dollars, so it's not a cheap mascara. If you like wet and thick mascaras this could work out for you. I was unfortunately disappointed. I might give it another shot in the future, but now I think I'll keep it in a drawer.

This is the one I tried (sample size).

You can purchase this product at Sephora or Benefit or any department store.
